What’s Hot Ahead: Culinary & Bar Trends for 2016

Eat + Drink

Is cauliflower the new kale? Are bamboo cocktails making a comeback? And how cool are artful ice cubes? We found out after doing extensive surveys at our bars and restaurants across the country (70-plus in more than 30 cities!). The result is our second annual Culinary & Cocktail Trend Forecast, and we’re so excited to share it with you. Here’s a snapshot of what’s hot at the bar and in the kitchen.

Is there any way to view higher resolution versions of those pictures? I had to zoom in and squint to read the food one and I think the drinks one is just impossible to read right now. I can’t believe meatloaf is the trend though!

I hope food in different wrappers will be a hot trend. I saw a BLT that used romaine lettuce as the bread and the dressing, bacon and tomatoes where inside. The lettuce was like a boat. It looked so fresh and appetizing and I could so consume it without any nagging hangovers from gluten. More gluten free without a negative “gluten free tag”. Green peppers for soup bowls instead of bread bowls! Polenta molds filled with sausage and cheese. I could go on and on!
