Paris Through the Senses: FEEL

Destinations

We’re celebrating our arrival in this gorgeous European capital with a 5-part blog series. Read about our favorite ways to experience Paris through all the senses: what we love to taste, smell, see and hear in the City of Light.

FEEL Your Best in French Fashion

There’s no sidestepping Paris’ contribution to style and every chic shopper knows it’s how one feels in fashion that matters most. With the hotel’s location in a former department store from the early 20th century, we’d be remiss not to honor some of the city’s newer boutiques and concept shops offering authentic French finds. Sure, you can always pop into Galeries Lafayette or Le Bon Marché, but those looking to truly feel Parisian should head to L’Appartement in the 2nd arrondissement from Sezane, which started out as Paris’s first online fashion brand, before opening a brick and mortar store in 2015. Merci and Colette paved the way for smaller (but no less cool), all-in-one type stores such as Le66 on the Champs Elysées and Archive 18-20 in the Marais.

Both offer a wide variety of accessories and clothing for both men and women, such as sheer pleated skirts from Maison Pere and A.P.C. knit pullovers. Plus, both feature pop-up locations of veggie-friendly Café Pinson.
