In case you hadn’t heard, Seattle is a hot place to be these days (even when it rains). So says Outside magazine, the Urban Land Institute, and almost everyone who lives here. So it only makes sense the new Kimpton hotel in Seattle — Palladian — is bringing the heat in a big way.
Opening today, Palladian is our fourth Seattle hotel — joining Hotel Monaco Seattle, Hotel Vintage and Alexis Hotel — and the sultry digs are located right in the heart of Emerald City, on the seam of the retail core and Belltown. With a nod to the past through vintage elements (the building dates back to 1910), embracing the present (the amenities are truly luxe), and a touch of hipster (like whimsical, pop-icon art pillows of Dave Grohl, David Bowie, Tom Selleck, and the like), the Palladian treats guests to the best in boutique design.
It’s beauty on the inside that matters most, of course, but there’s plenty of eye candy on the outside, too. Some rooms feature views of the Space Needle, while others look out to Elliott Bay, where the sunsets are truly sublime. And you can’t beat the location — Pike Place Market, plenty of retail therapy, and a veritable smorgasbord of restaurants are within easy walking distance.
No need to walk too far, though — the on-site Shaker + Spear is poised to be the next it place to dine, thanks to the seafood cuisine from award-winning chef Walter Pisano, who’s made his mark on the Seattle culinary scene as the longtime leader of Italian-inspired Tulio (adjacent to Hotel Vintage). Expect fresh-from-the-sea fare such as Penn Cove mussel chowder and diver scallops in golden raisin purée. For an Old World social salon experience, Pennyroyal bar offers shareable punches, small plates, and seriously good aged drinks served up in vintage glasses.
Pennyroyal is certainly worth its weight in bourbon, but don’t miss your daily chance to sip gratis. Kimpton hotels are known for our complimentary wine social hours, and Palladian is no exception — except that we’ve added a little something extra to the mix here: A whiskey concierge and whiskey hour. There’s nothing like getting into the Seattle spirit with a good spirit (especially one that smells like it’s in its teens).

Wow ! Four Seattle Kimptons? Love them all – especially our pals at the Monaco. Kevin is the best.
Yup, four. And for what it’s worth, Melissa, that’s one more than the Boston area has.
