Last time we checked, stardust referred to the dust found in meteorites. (We pulled out our 11th grade astronomy textbook for that one.)
But in reference to the Stardust Suite at Chicago’s Hotel Allegro, the word takes on another meaning: a magical or charismatic quality or feeling. (Thanks, thesaurus.)
It’s true that the energy in the sprawling corner suite is almost cosmic. For starters, its cobalt blue walls take on an even more intense hue as night falls. Add mood lighting, disco era-inspired mirrors, and far-reaching city views, and you’ve got one out-of-this-world party setting.
The designers looked to bar lounges from the ’40s through the ’70s for its eclectic, retro-glam styling. Of course modern updates emerge in the wall-mounted plasma TV and surround sound system – perfect for watching the big game while you shoot stick at the Brunswick pool table.
Given its gracious size and several convivial sitting areas, the suite has been used for bachelor and bachelorette parties, brunches, small casual meetings, baby showers, birthday parties, and other social functions. It can be adjoined with one or two guest rooms, in the case that revelers need a crash pad.
Either way, everyone will leave with stars in their eyes.
Hotel Allegro is located at 171 W. Randolph Street in Chicago. To reserve the Stardust Suite, call 312-236-0123 or go to allegrochicago.com.
