Green Scene! Cheers to St. Patrick’s Day Cocktails

Move over, green beer. This St. Patrick’s Day, the frothy stuff has a little competition. We’re talking about handcrafted green cocktails.

Head bartenders at Kimpton’s bars and lounges know a spirited holiday when they see one. So they rose to the occasion and are concocting special, Emerald Isle-themed drinks.

If you can’t make it out to see us, make your own at home. These options are sure to go down smooth and put a jig in your step.

The Triple Crown

This delectable green wonder is twist on the mint julep.

Ingredients:
2 oz. Four Roses Yellow Label Bourbon
¾ oz.   Mint syrup
¾ oz.   Fresh lemon
2 dashes    Mint bitters
Sprig of mint

Shake and strain the first four ingredients over fresh pellet ice. Mix in a Collins glass and add a sprig of mint.

Uisce Beatha

What’s in a name? Well, this one is Irish for “whiskey.” According to Wikipedia, the word “whiskey” is an anglicized version of “uisce beatha,” stemming from a mispronunciation of the word uisce.

Ingredients:
1 ½ oz.  Powers Irish Whiskey
½ oz.   Cynar
1 oz.   Cream

Mix the ingredients together and garnish with a dopper of stout.

May Irish eyes smile at you ~ cheers!
