It’s summertime … and the living is easy. Mostly because there are just so many good things out there to eat.
Our stomach doubled in size (well, we wish it did) when we heard what our chefs were cooking up. They’re tapping into local and seasonal flavors for our first-ever Chef’s Summer Celebration, held July 25-31.
The full-out homage to regional ingredients will keep you sated from Miami to Portland and tons of points in between. Here are a few things in store:
• The 30 Mile Dinner at Portland’s Red Star Tavern is a three-course meal using produce sourced within 30 miles of the city. Also, yummy local beer and wine pairings.
• A sustainable seafood menu with fresh catches from the Southwest Fisherman’s Market and Dupont Circle Farmer’s Market reels diners to Urbana restaurant in Washington D.C.
• Expect fruity fun at Area 31 in Miami (they’re doing a homage to mangos) and Bambara in Salt Lake City (hello, watermelon tasting menu).
Because our chefs also have a voracious appetite for charity, five percent of the proceeds from Chef’s Summer Celebration will benefit local affiliates of Dress for Success, the nonprofit organization that helps disadvantaged women re-enter the workforce.
