Hotel Allegro Chicago
Lion King Suite
The Lion King Suite is the newest addition to the Hotel Allegro's popular series of themed suites that honor the arts. The Lion King Suite is inspired by and in tribute to the award-winning musical The Lion King, playing next door to the Allegro in the Cadillac Palace Theater. Guests will be enchanted from the moment they enter through "Rafiki's Welcome," hand-carved mahogany columns with a shingled roof that feature a native mask from Zimbabwe and into the living room that has been transformed into the Pridelands of Pride Rock. Second City Suite
The Second City Suite was created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Chicago's famed Second City Theatre, a launching pad for numerous comedic actors, writers and directors working today in American film, television and theatre. With design input from the cast and crew of the Second City, the suite contains photos, memorabilia and an original caricature by artist Bill Utterback, who has been creating artwork for Second City for nearly 30 years. Furnishings for the Second City Suite are on loan from the company's private collection or handcrafted exclusively for the Hotel Allegro. Rates for the Second City Suite start at $229.

Serrano Hotel
American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Designer Suite
The Serrano Hotel, located in the heart of San Francisco's theater district, along with the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.), has designed and created the A.C.T. Suite. The suite, an imaginative miniature version of A.C.T.'s Geary Theater, reflects the nationally registered building's look, feel and ambiance. Each of the suite's room areas is modeled after elements of the theater. Guests enter the suite through the "stage door." The wall coverings of the suite are garnished with theater memorabilia from A.C.T.'s 35-year history in San Francisco. The sitting room area is transformed into the "green room" including an area with refreshments (mini bar) and a desk containing copies of A.C.T.'s-produced scripts, a Stagebill program magazine, and A.C.T. and Serrano Hotel stationary for writing notes and signing autographs. The bedroom is designed to appear like the actual "stage" - the walls facing the end of the bed resemble the auditorium as seen from the stage. Curtains, a proscenium, theatrical lighting, and other decorative items associated with a stage are present. Additional theatrical props and pieces are placed around the room to give guests the ultimate theater experience. Rates for the A.C.T. Suite start at $289.
