Kevin might mix up the most innovative cocktails with the freshest ingredients, but he can still always find creativity in the simplest tools. Get him on a deserted island and all he needs is a keg of beer.

What’s your favorite bar tool right now?

Ice, it's the most integral tool to make all cocktails. I shake with it. I stir with it. And nowadays I use it to ice my shoulder and elbow after work.

Name your Deserted Island Cocktail.

Kegs of beer. After finishing the keg of beer, I could float off the island in my newly designed stream lined beer keg boat.

Who would you most like to sit and enjoy a martini with?

If and when I do have time to sit down and enjoy a martini, it would definitely be my wife and dog.

What was your first job?

I was a student painter in High School. For a summer I painted houses, not very well. I didn't like it much because I always had to stand on these insanely old wooden ladders, while carrying a bucket of paint and brush.

Do you have any phobias?

That the service bar printer would never stop printing tickets. I have nightmares about that printer. I sometimes think I hear it following me around the apartment.

What was the last thing that made you laugh so hard that your stomach hurt?

Recently I had a guest ask me how many sliders were in the triple slider order.....uhhhhh triple!?

If you had to give a young mixologist some advice, what would you tell them?

Slow down and be patience. Mixing great drinks is just one side of being a great bartender. Engaging guests, interacting with your co-workers, and working the bar takes time to develop.

What’s the most underrated spirit?

I'd say Gin. Gin has so many different styles and flavors that it's a great base spirit to work with. Consumers are still scared to drink Gin and aren't familiar with it.
