Coastal Jewel Becomes Kimpton’s Second in San Diego

SAN FRANCISCO (June 13, 2011) – Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants announced this week that it has taken over management of Hotel La Jolla for the property owner, an affiliate of Westport Capital Partners LLC. A well-known landmark property in the beautiful beach community of La Jolla, Calif. just north of San Diego, the 108-room hotel has recently undergone a significant renovation to all guest rooms and is slated for a major remodel of the restaurant, reception, lobby and outdoor pool areas, to be completed in early 2012.

Specifically, the restaurant will be relocated from the 11^th floor to the first floor for easy access by locals and guests and offering outdoor seating. In addition, the main level of the hotel will be remodeled to include a reception area and living room with a lobby bar adjacent to the hotel’s swimming pool and poolside cabanas. Upon completion of the remodel, Hotel La Jolla will offer all of the iconic Kimpton programs such as the hosted evening wine hour, “Forgot It? We’ve Got It!” list of travel essentials, animal print robes, Guppy Love (companion goldfish upon request), loyalty program perks and personalized preferences and more than 100 eco-friendly EarthCare operating practices.
