Our Partnership With The Trust for Public Land
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and The Trust for Public Land have teamed up to help create parks in cities across America. The Trust for Public Land is a nonprofit organization that conserves land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens and other natural places. Since 1972, The Trust for Public Land has helped protect more than 2 million acres in 46 states. The Trust for Public Land's Parks for People initiative works in cities across America to ensure that everyone, especially every child, enjoys close-to-home access to a park, playground, or natural area. During the months of June and July, Kimpton Hotels hosts a series of events to support The Trust for Public Land, raise funds and create awareness.

Parks for People program
Eight out of ten Americans live in a city or suburb. Yet, as many as two in three city residents lack access to a nearby park or playground. The Trust for Public Land's Parks for People initiative is working to ensure that everyone - in particular, every child - enjoys close-to-home access to a park, playground or natural area.

Parks promote good health, reduce crime, and provide a host of environmental benefits. Few acts of philanthropy create a community resource as tangible or as permanent as creating a park or playground in a neighborhood without one.

As a key driver of Kimpton's EarthCare Program, every summer in June and July all hotels offer a variety of ways to support The Trust for Public Land's efforts. Fundraising activities include:

  • Tiered giving opportunities for Kimpton hotel guests and employees
  • A series of events in cities across the country to raise visibility and donations

Guests can also support the Parks for People fundraising effort by staying at a Kimpton Hotel and requesting a donation be made in their name.
