Our Partnership With The Trust for Public Land
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has teamed up with The Trust for Public Land to help create parks and protect open space in cities across America. The Trust for Public Land (TPL) is a national nonprofit that conserves land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens and other natural places. Since 1972, the Trust has protected more than 3.2 million acres in 47 states. The Trust for Public Land's Parks for People initiative works in cities nationwide to ensure that everyone - in particular, every child - enjoys close-to-home access to a park, playground, or natural area. Today, nearly 10 million people live within a ten-minute walk of a park, garden, or natural area protected by TPL. Parks promote good health, reduce crime, and provide a host of environmental benefits. Few acts of philanthropy create a community resource as tangible or as permanent as creating a park or playground in a neighborhood without one.
