As the nation's leading conservation nonprofit working in cities, The Trust for Public Land enhances lives and strengthens communities by creating parks, playgrounds, trails, and gardens, and by preserving open spaces where people can touch the natural world. Since 1972, The Trust for Public Land has completed nearly 5,000 land conservation projects in 46 states, protecting 3 million acres of land. The Nature Conservancy The Nature Conservancy has launched a groundbreaking conservation effort, the Plant a Billion Trees campaign. Their goal is to bring the Atlantic Forest of Brazil back from the brink, reforesting degraded lands and reconnecting tracts of native forest through an ambitious large-scale plan to plant one billion native trees.
