Cherry-Pick a Kimpton Hotel

Welcome! If you're here, you must be thinking about coming to see Washington DC's cherry blossoms this spring, when this city becomes a giant bouquet of pink splendor—and a non-stop hub of cultural and artistic expression. The theme for the 2012 National Cherry Blossom Festival is City in Bloom. It's a sight to behold, and Kimpton has 10 unique hotels in Washington DC and Northern Virginia—from Dupont Circle to Logan Circle, Capitol Hill to Alexandria—ideally located so you can enjoy all the fun.

You can also savor the tastes of spring at Kimpton's 10 area restaurants and lounges. We'll be serving up creative cherry-infused entrées, appetizers and desserts throughout the festival. Craving something a little spirited? Choose from an array of specialty cocktails, such as a Smoked Old Fashioned with Sour Cherry Fizz at The Grille at Morrison House, or Urbana Restaurant & Wine Bar's Cherry Blossom Bellini.

A Century of Flowers and Friendship.
In 2012, the National Cherry Blossom Festival is celebrating 100 years since Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo made a gift of 3,000 cherry trees to the city of Washington, DC.That little gesture was the beginning of several floral exchanges, including our gift to Japan of flowering dogwood trees which was the start of their annual dogwood festival. Don't you just love stories like this? And you can be a part of history by participating!
