OUR EARTHCARE COMMITMENT
Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants have made a life-long commitment to environmental responsibility. Being environmentally responsible is not a one day job. It is a commitment and one that Kimpton is dedicated to for life. Every three months, new products and practices are introduced to Kimpton EarthCare, furthering our vision to reduce our impact on the environment. Of course, all the while, we protect the high quality hotel experience our guests expect.

Whether you are an activist or active, hippie or hip, or simply hope to do good in the world while doing something good for yourself - we invite you to enjoy a Kimpton boutique hotel. You'll sleep easy if you do.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy on environmental responsibility is about more than contributing financially; it's about embracing behavioral change. This kind of change begins at home, is expanded at work, and now extends to who we choose to do business with. Kimpton's history with environmental causes began in 1985, when one of the first Kimpton Hotels, the Galleria Park Hotel, included a rooftop urban park which we renovated and reopened for public enjoyment. In 1994, we opened the Eco Floor at the Hotel Triton. In 2005, we launched our EarthCare program embracing behavioral change nationwide at all Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.

Our standards go through a detailed analysis and assessment in the following areas:
  • Vendor comparisons
  • Product sampling/testing
  • Quality analysis - comparison to products in use
  • Financial analysis - savings/loss on current costs and expenses
  • Environmental benefits
The success of the program lies not only in our commitment to the environment, but in our commitment to maintaining the highest quality guest experience as well. Through creative and clever planning, we found it is possible to diminish our ecological footprint while making a positive impression on our customers.
